As of 2025, there are a total of 52 districts in MP. Each district is governed by a District Magistrate or Collector. As per the bill passed by the state cabinet in 2020, 3 new districts will be added to Madhya Pradesh soon. This will increase the number of MP districts from 52 to 55.

Currently, there are 52 districts in Madhya Pradesh. However, on 19 March 2020, an order was passed by the Madhya Pradesh government to create 3 more districts in the state. Once the three new districts are created, the total number of MP districts will raise from 52 to 55.
